From “spravljenice” to “zadrugarke”: Education of Orthodox Serbian women in Dubrovnik 1831-1914.

چکیده

Over the centuries, young girls from hinterland of Dubrovnik often went to serve in wealthy homes order provide for their basic living needs or sometimes even dowry. The position this female population, which people called - spravljenice, cupe godisnjice, was very unfavorable, although within literature they were presented as activists who fought rights. After legalization Serbian Orthodox Church community 1790, affluent families moved Dubrovnik. These significantly participated economic recovery during next century. As a successful community, Serbs tried school children, finally succeeded 1831 with permanent teacher, George Nikolajevic. Girls also attended founded by This case until 1879, when Bozo Boskovic Women?s school. Young women educated Association Women Dubrovnik, led Teodora Boskovic.
